Full Description

{1} Althorp; SP6865; many furlongs with headlands and joints belonging to the almost complete township of Althorp. It completely surrounds the Elizabethan house and parkland. A small amount of the township may lie outside the park area but survival of ridge and furrow is about 80% complete, covering c.150ha. An example of early enclosure in 1512. Medieval and later records are in The Spencer Collection at NRO.
