Monument record 8208 - Probable Iron Age and/or Roman settlement, south-west of New England Farm

At least three conjoined ditched enclosures of probable Iron Age or Roman is visible as cropmarks on historic aerial photographs. Located in a field WSW of New England Farm is a large curvilinear ditched enclosure, on the north side of which is attached a small triangular enclosure. On the NE side of this is a D-shaped enclosure and fragmentary ditches suggest two possible further conjoined enclosures.

{1} At least three conjoined ditched enclosures of probable Iron Age or Roman is visible as cropmarks on historic aerial photographs and was mapped as part of the Bedford Borough NMP project. Located in a field about 345 metres WSW of New England Farm and centred at TL 01521 70417, a large curvilinear ditched enclosure, on the north side of which is attached a small triangular enclosure. On the NE side of this is a D-shaped enclosure and fragmentary ditches suggest two possible further conjoined enclosures.
