Summary

Short lived quarries that dated from 1882 to 1890. The site of quarry can be seen from the Lamport to Draughton road and is marked by a crescent shaped depression in the ground.

Full Description

{1}Owners from 1882 Glendon Iron Co. and from 1886 Glendon Iron Co. Ltd., until closure in 1890. Throughtout its short life the quarry site was only five acres in area and was connected to the LNWR Northampton to Market Harborough line by a tramway that ran from the site through a shallow valley to Lamport Station. The quarries were closed in 1890 when the owner shut down their furnaces at Finedon. The site of quarry can be seen from the Lamport to Draughton road and is marked by a crescent shaped depression in the ground.
