Full Description

{1} Owners Irthlingborough Iron Ore Co.Ltd from 25th Febraury 1890 until closure on the 9th December 1902. This company appears to have been the first to operate in Irthlingborough itself and one of the directors being John Spencer of Manor House Irthlingborough. It was apparently his land that was to be worked. The quarries were on the rising ground southeast of High Street West and would almost certainly need a locomotive but none are known to have been owned by the company. The company was shortlived and was wound up in May 1898 and a new company formed with the same title only to be dissolved on 9th December 1902.
