Full Description

{1} Owners from 1873 were Thomas Whitehouse & from 1875 to June 1883 Thrapston Iron Ore Co.Ltd.; pits or quarries were opened with tramway to Thrapston Midland Railway junction; it is believed that wagons were drawn by horses; ore was of very poor quality & quarry was closed in May 1881; company was wound up on 15th June 1883;
