Full Description

{1} Owner E.P.Davis from 1888 until closure in 1902 Compared with Corby the quarries at Gretton were very smnall. The village of Gretton is perched on the edge of an Olithic cliff and the Midland Railway Kettering to Nottingham line was half way up the slope on a shelf. The quarry itself was on the top of the hill above the railway. The quarry was situated to the south west of the village parallel with the railway. The quarries worked to the edge of the area leased and then seemed to have closed down in 1902.
