Full Description

{1}Owners from the early 1950's Richard Thomas & Baldwins Ltd until closure in September 1967. Little is known of this small group of working which lay just one mile north of the Nassington Quarries. The centre of the operations were at a farm called Cook's Hole. The ground was quarried in strips. Lorries were used throughout and the ore discharged into railwagons at Kings Cliffe station. Closure occurred in 1967 when Scunthorpe works decided that they no longer needed their ore from these quarries.
