Full Description
{1} Not far from the water mill in a field called Chapel Close, stood formerly a small chapel which was appropriated to the hospital of SS James and John in Aynho by Hugh Wells, bishop of Lincoln, with the consent of Guy de la Haie, the patron of the said chapel and afterwards given to the rectory of Croughton. The walls of it were standing within living memory.
