Full Description

{1} In 1849 four skeletons were found during drainage works near the river. 1 of the skeletons had a small finger ring.

{3} One of the drains cut through four skeletons, disposed with the heads to the west. They were enveloped in bog, and do not appear to have been interred with the usual accompaniments of sepulchral vases; nor did the soil present any ashes or signs of cremation. They lay at a depth of five feet. One of the remains was of a female; and just above the boady a round ball or pebble or ironstone was met with, and immediately above it a small bronze finger-ring, perfectly plain.
