Full Description
{1} SP670633. A mound seen here in December 1969 seen from one side appears to be c.2ft high, but could be a natural feature. This is a likely spot for the Nobottle Grove Hundred meeting place. The adjoining field on the north side is called 'Harrow Hill' according to the fieldname survey of 1932.
{2} The settlement of Nobottle gave its name to the Hundred of Nobottle Grove. The meeting place of this Hundred was therefore presumably nearby, and it has been plausibly suggested that the field called 'Harrow Hill' which lies north-west of the hamlet on the summit of a ridge (at SP669633) is the site of the Hundred meeting place.
