Abstract/Summary

A two stage geophysical survey and fieldwalking survey were undertaken to further assess the likeliehood of significant archaeology surviving. Based on this work, a trial trench evaluation was underraken , with a total of 43 trenches being excavated. An area in the north western part of the site was selected for area excavation based on the results of the trial trenching. Both the trial trenching and the area excavation provided largely negative results, indicating a very poor state of preservation, to the extent of destruction of features.
