Abstract/Summary

This document is the result of a documentary and photographic survey of the former Regent Belt Works, Long Buckby, Northamptonshire, prior to its demolition in April and May 2000. The site is centred at SP 1836 6001. The report was commissioned by Mr C Cockswill of Westleigh Developments, Leicester (ref: 5411/PJG/RRC) on 28th February 2000 to satisfy a planning condition required by Daventry District Council. The brief for the report was prepared by Northamptonshire Heritage, part of the Northamptonshire County Council, in their role as advisors to Daventry District Council. The objectives were to undertsnad the history and development of the building, its function and to provide a drawn and written record. The latter to conform in general to 'Level 3' (RCHM(E) 199^). This report was prepared by Michael Dawson, Principal Archaeologist at Samuel Rose. The site was visited on 29th February 2000 and 12th and 13th April 2000 and a photographic survey undertaken.
