Abstract/Summary
This evidence assessed in this evaluation suggest that much of the Application Site has been severely damaged by previous developments and it is therefore unlikely that significant archaeological remains will survive. Only along parts of the frontage with Chapel Road might archaeological deposits be expected to survive. Parts of this area have been totally destroyed by garage inspection pits and the western part appears to lie on the site of a formerly much wider Gretton Road. The interpretation of the map evidence suggests that the Site was not occupied by buildings in the later sixteenth century.
