Abstract/Summary
An archaeological evaluation was carried out at Shacks Barn Farm, Silverstone, Northamptonshire during February and March 2001. The evaluation identified sparse but distinct areas of archaeological activity, mostly dating from to the mid to late Iron Age and the early Roman period. Medieval ridge and furrow was observed, and small scale quarrying. No evidence was found for the projected line of the Roman road between Towcester and Alchester. Much of the area covered by the evaluation produced no archaeological remains of any kind.
