Abstract/Summary

The results from the various geophysical surveys have proved difficult to interpret. Although a reflection identified in the GPR survey within the garden coincided with one burial, other similar reflections were found to be due to geological variations. The resistance results indicate ridge and furrow in the garden, and recent cultivation in the allotments. Although some pit type anomalies of possible interest were identified in the gradiometer survey of the allotments, excavation showed these to be modern or natural. However, there is an increased level of magnetic noise in the north of the allotment adjacent to the garden, which may suggest the limits of the cemetery, although such an interpretation is cautious.
