Abstract/Summary

An archaeological watching brief was carried out on land south of Marsh lane, Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire between July 1999 and April 2000 during the digging of footings for the construction of an indoor sports centre and car park. The watching brief revealed that alluvial subsoil deposits sealed the natural gravels. Two possible pits and a ring ditched enclosure were found.
