Abstract/Summary

Desk Based Assessment of Land at 46 Queen Street, Geddington, Northamptonshire, has revealed the proposal site is considerably disturbed by garden features, ponds terracing and tree planting and slopes steeply to the west. Although the site is in an area where there is further archaeological potential, and the land lies not far from an area of Roman period and possibly medieval iron working, there is no evidence of archaeological activity known on the proposed development site. he topography of this sloping site also reduces the likelihood of archaeological activity there whilst the disturbed ground conditions indicate any archaeological evidence is likely to be considerably damage.
