Abstract/Summary

Niall Oakey was commissioned by Martin Tingle to undertake an archaeological desk-based assessment of land at 13 Big Green, Warmington, Northamptonshire (centred on NGR: TL 081912), hereafter referred to as 'the Site' (figure 1). An application (ENO1/0531) has been made to East Northamptonshire Council for Outline Planning Permission for residential development on this site. Prior to determination of the application an archaeological evaluation of the Site has been required and a brief prepared by Northamptonshire County Council Historic Environment Team. The NCC BrieF required a desk-based assessment to be carried out prior to the submission if detailed proposals for fieldwork investigation. The aims of this report are to collate the known archaeological and historical resources and to consider the proposal site within its wider archaeological context. The research for this report was designed to comply with the IFA (Institute of Field Archaeologists).
