Abstract/Summary

A series of middle Iron Age circular structures represented at least two phases of activity, radio-carbon dated to between the 4th and 1st centuries BC, comprising an enclosed occupation site with some evidence of metalworking. A similar series of features within an enclosure was revealed by geophysical survey just to the east of the excavated site. A very small quantity of late Iron Age material was recovered from features not related to the main occupation area. An apparently unrelated series of shallow linear features cutting across the site may also have been of Iron Age date but were more probably the remains of medieval cultivation.
