Abstract/Summary
The Trial Trenches revealed no evidence of any surviving archaeological deposits. It appears that any archaeological remains that might once have existed have been destroyed by earlier works connected with the site’s use as a garage and petrol station. The desk-based review indicates that there has been Iron Age, Romano-British and medieval use of this, southern, part of Geddington, Post-medieval map evidence indicates that Queen Street was extensively occupied from at least the later eighteenth century.
