Abstract/Summary
A watching Brief was undertaken during the development of gardens on the site of the former landscaped park of Catesby House. The groundwork started without implementation of a watching brief and the whole area had already been stripped using boxscrapers by the time archaeologists got onto site. The only remains identified during a walking survey over the site were associated with the gardens and included a brick-lined 'spreader' drain, a rubble foundation for a path or bridle path and an area of cobbling thought to represent a hardened track from the house to Lower Catesby.
