Abstract/Summary

Building Survey of a house dating back to c. 1580-1600. The original hall was lost in the 19th century, the surviving large block forming a cross wing to the original house. The cross wing contained a fine first floor bedchamber with a most unusual, high status feature- a garderobe. The stone work is high quality with many surviving stone mullion windows. A fine oak stair was introduced c 1700, with high quality panelling, doorways and other fittings. In the early 19th century a second high quality staircase was introduced.
