Abstract/Summary

Following the work in Autumn 2000, further trial trenching was undertaken to the south of the former excavation zone A, in the vicinity of the River Nene. An additional thirteen trenches were opened over five fields which had previously been subject to geophysical survey. Most of them were empty or contained only field drains, Trench 13 contained a post-medieval ditch and Trench 14 contained a small undated ditch terminal. The lack of archaeological material may suggest this area was used exclusively for pasture.
