Abstract/Summary

Chelveston (SP86/96: 9918-6953), may be considered as a small dispersed hamlet situated approximately 2 1/4 miles(4.2 km) north east of Higham Ferrers and 6 miles (12km) from Wellingborough. The Star and Garter is the only public house situated in the village, which is a multi phased building, the earliest part of the complex dating to c1650. The public house has seen a continuous occupancy from possibly the late 17th century/early part of 18th century to date.
