Abstract/Summary

This report details the known history and archaeology of a 0.1ha plot of land off Bridge St Weldon. Presently pasture, the plot has previously been ploughed, but has not been developed since at least 1587 and probably much earlier. It lies within an area rich in archaeological remains dating from certainly the Roman period and potentially the Bronze Age up to the medieval period. Specifically it lies within the designated area of the Scheduled Monument of Weldon Roman Villa. There is no evidence that archaeological remains of any date extend into the plot.
