Title A Building Recording Survey of the Roof at Kingsthorpe Hall Northampton
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2002
SMR Input Date (use for label searches) 08/09/03

Abstract/Summary

The roof of the hall was severely damaged by fire in 2002. A recording action was undertaken during the removal of debris from the fire while the building was weatherproofed through the erection of a temporary roof. This survey has recorded the remains of the roof timbers though the severity of the fire has meant that little can be determined regarding timber dates and joint types. What remains indicates the roof to be of nineteenth century date with later repairs.
