Abstract/Summary

A survey of the Sessions house was carried out in order that decisions regarding the future use of the building will take into account its historic background. It appears to be unique in England, being the only building of its type to have survived from the 17th century in substantially unaltered form. The exterior remains almost unchanged on its George Row frontage. The interior retains some original features the most complete being the ceiling plasterwork by Edward Goudge.
