Abstract/Summary
60 and 60A East Road Oundle lie at the furthest eastern edge of the medieval settlement of Oundle where the town meets the former open fields. Numerous pieces of previous work east of East Road have shown that no medieval occupation took place here other than arable cultivation and that, while the Northamptonshire Extensive Urban Survey does not preclude previous Saxon occupation in this area, the balance of excavated evidence has not supported this. All three excavations carried out east of East Road have been negative. It is unlikely that this plot might differ in any way.
