Abstract/Summary
The principal contents of this report contain an evaluation of three brick buildings, Nos. 41, 43 and 72 Staion Road, Desborough. Nos 41 and 43 were built by the Desborough Industrial & Provident Co-operative Society on 1906 and 1903 respectively and reflect what was probably one of the most dynamic phases of the national Co-operative movement during the twentieth century. No. 41 has been subjected to more radical alteraions than No 43, but both buildings retain a substantial amount of their original character and form. No 72 was built as a factory in 1879 and is a late-comer to the Desborough Co-operative Society's portfolio of properties, having been acquired for use as a furniture and hardware department in 1934, the original façade of this building was replaced by the present frontage later that same year
