Abstract/Summary

The survey has successfully located two enclosures at the eastern end of the site that are likely to have produced the cropmarks recorded on aerial photographs. The results suggest the remains of a settlement site though no anomalies, such as clusters of pit respnses, have been detected that would support this interpretation. Other associated features have been recorded and some lying toward the centre of the site may indicate the course of the trackway. However, there is evidence to suggest that many of these anomalies are associated with past ridge and furow cultivation and more recent ploughing that has truncated archaeological remains.
