Abstract/Summary

This report describes the history of the farm, which in recent years became the Hunsbury Hill Centre. It offers a summary of the farms development and the key features that make it such an important site in the county's agricultural history. It is an early survival of an early "model farm", that is, a farm which has been designed and built in a single phase, and exemplifies best practice for its day. Model farms were a vast improvement on anything built earlier in terms of convenience and efficiency and represent advanced thinking in architectural as well as agricultural ideas.
