Abstract/Summary
From at least as early as 1705, and up to Inclosure in 1820, the area where Plum Park Hotel now stands was part of the open fields of Paulerspury. In particular, it formed part of Stone, or Stony Hill Furlong, which was in Plumpton Park Field. After inclosure no buildings stood on the land until the present hotel, built some time after 1920 and before 1950. David Hall’s field walking map of the parish (1973) identifies an area of quarrying to the south-east of the hotel (Pers. comm. March 2006), but he does not recall the detail.
