Abstract/Summary

Northamptonshire Archaeology carried out a desk-based assessment of the historic resource for the Pendered Wards, St Crispin’s Hospital, Upton, Northamptonshire. The site contains the main block building and an additional ancillary building to the south, formerly part of the St Crispin’s Hospital complex. Pendered Wards was built in 1935, close to the first isolation Hospital built prior to 1901 and subsequently demolished for residential development. The documentary evidence indicates that the site was not developed prior to this time.
