Abstract/Summary

A planning consent has been granted for the refurbishment of The Nags Head, Hargrave, near Higham Ferrers. This refurbishment also includes the building of a new structure to the rear. A building recording and analysis had been requested prior to any works being completed. The Nags Head, a public house is situated at the junction of Church Street and Nags Head Lane, Hargrave. The building has phased construction dates, the earliest c.mid sixteenth century the latest date mid twentieth century. At the time of the survey it was found that some primary documentary evidence was available, however much of the survey was dependant on Ordnance Survey maps, trade directories and physical evidence was dependant on the main fabric of the building.
