Abstract/Summary
Northamptonshire Archaeology was commissioned by Edgar Developments Ltd to prepare an archaeological desk-based assessment ahead of development of c.0.1ha of land at 194-200 Kingsthorpe Grove and of c.0.05ha of land on Trinity Avenue, Northampton. There was a minimal prehistoric presence in the neighbourhood, but some Romano-British occupation in the vicinity. Throughout the medieval and post medieval periods the land was open fields, with the development of the area beginning at the end of the 19th century. The two development sites were only being built up in the early 20th century. The evidence would indicate that there is a possibility of Roman remains in the vicinity, but the survival of any archaeological remains on the development site is unlikely.
