Abstract/Summary
An archaeological desk-based assessment and modern disturbance review on the school site. The aim of the study was to establish the potential for the presence of archaeological remains at the site. Documentrary and cartographic evidence show that a large portion of the western area of the site has been truncated as a result of the erection of the school. A geotechnical survey shows that heavy truncation has also occurred within the same area due to unidentified activity. The remainder of the site has been undisturbed and therefore there is the possibility for the survival of an as yet unidentified archaeological resource. This would most likely be in the form of evidence for activity during the prehistoric or Roman period.
