Abstract/Summary
An archaeological desk-based assessment and modern disturbance review on the school site. The aim of the study was to establish the potential for the presence of archaeological remains at the site. Documentary and cartographic evidence shows that although the site lies within the confines of Duston Roman town and some prehistoric and Iron Age remains are known in the vicinity, it also falls in an area that was extensively quarried in the 19th and early 20th centuries. A geotechnical survey shows that heavy truncation has occurred across the site due to this quarrying activity.
