Abstract/Summary

A programme of archaeological works was undertaken between March and August 2006, in advance of and during groundworks connected with construction of a new sewage treatment works and underground pumping station with associate pipeline on land south-west of the village of Winwick. The works comprised a walkover and GPS survey of the area of the new sewage treatment plant followed by a watching brief during all subsequent groundworks. Undisturbed natural substratum was noted across all of the development area. No archaeological deposits or artefacts were present.
