Abstract/Summary

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by Northamptonshire Archaeology during the installation of a new fountain in the Market Square, Northampton. The work comprised the excavation of two pits for the installation of the fountain equipment. No significant archaeological deposits were present since the stratigraphy was disturbed by recent activity. A single unstratified pottery sherd of medieval date was recovered.
