Abstract/Summary

An archaeological evaluation by trial trenching was carried out in June 2010 on land to the rear of High Street, Daventry, at Bowen Square. Two 3 sq m trenches were opened up; one demonstrated heavy truncation by 19th century cellaring whilst the other showed that some undisturbed deposits still exist on the site. No finds or features of any antiquity were noted.
