Abstract/Summary

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on land at Rothwell Manor Park. This addressed the conditions placed on planning permission by Kettering BC and follows the Design Specification for archaeological work to monitor groundwork for a new footpath. The land is located within the historic core of Rothwell in an area of significant archaeological potential within the historic core of the settlement; therefore any groundwork on the site had potential to disturb areas of archaeological importance. The watching brief was carried out by ULAS on the 25th, 30th and 31st March 2009. No significant archaeological deposits or finds were observed.
