Abstract/Summary

A strip, map and sample archaeological investigation was undertaken prior to residential development on land at Poundfield Road, Potterspury, Northamptonshire. The site lies close to both the line of Roman Watling Street and to remains of the Potterspury medieval pottery industry. The investigation revealed a field boundary ditch containing a residual sherd of 13th - 15th century pottery and an early 20th century brick built farm building. Finds comprised unstratified 13th - 15th century pottery from the local kilns and a single piece of ceramic building material.
