Abstract/Summary

The evaluation found scatters of middle Iron Age and Romano British pottery. The Iron Age pottery may be associated with fragmentary features identified by the geophysical survey, whilst the Romano British pottery is more likely to derive from agricultural manuring as are the medieval and post medieval pottery scatters present. Ploughed out ridge and furrow was also identified by the geophysical survey and it is likely that from at least the medieval period onwards the land has been constantly given over to agriculture.
