Abstract/Summary

A desk-based assessment of land at North Street, Daventry, Northamptonshire was undertaken by Northamptonshire Archaeology. The application area comprises c. 0.4ha of land at the junction of Eastern Way and North Street. The assessment examined cartographic, historic, pictorial and archaeological sources for the application area and its environs. The assessment found that the application area appears to have been solely used as agricultural land until after the Second World War when housing development occurred. Although the site does lie close to the historic core of Daventry, there were no archaeologically significant features known within the application area.
