Abstract/Summary

Northamptonshire Archaeology conducted a desk-based assessment on land at HMP and YOI Onley, at the request of Daventry District Council, in response to a planning application to replace a section of security fencing adjacent to the scheduled Monument of Onley deserted medieval village. Although a section of this fence is aligned only 7-8m from the boundary with the monument, there is little evidence to suggest that archaeological remains will be disturbed by the proposed works and the setting of the monument will not be affected.
