Abstract/Summary
In June 2012 an evaluation was carried out at Brackley Lane in advance of construction of a small housing development. Four trial trences were excavated but no significant archaeological features were present in the trenches. Three plough furrows were present in trench 2. Trenches 3 and 4 had been disturbed by recent cultivation activity and two lengths of modern brick wall were also present in trench 4. The latter are modern and not of archaeological significance. No significant archaeological features or artefacts were present in the trenches. It is unlikely that large numbers of archaeological features are present on the site and the archaeological impact of the development is considered to be low.
