Abstract/Summary
A fluxgate gradiometer survey has been undertaken on land at Sandy Hill Lane, Moulton. The survey has identified a number of probable ditches that appear to define elements of a former field system. Potential pits were also recorded, and other linear anomalies resolve as potential ridge and furrow. The low magnetic response of a recently removed field boundary extending across the mid part of the site was also recorded. Relatively strong magnetic variation features on the site of former agricultual or industrial structures, and strong readings in the mid-northern part of the survey may indicate the rubble backfill of a former sand quarry.
