Abstract/Summary

Northamptonshire Archaeology conducted an archaeological desk-based heritage assessment of land at Harrington Road, Desborough, Northamptonshire. There are no designated assets within the site boundary or in the wider vicinity. The site contains well-preserved earthworks of ridge and furrow, which are remnants of the medieval open field system of farming. However, this area of ridge and furrow is an isolated survival in this area and the township of Desborough as a whole has not been identified as an area where these earthworks should be preserved. No other known archaeological sites or finds are known from the site and it is considered that there is a low probability of prehistoric, Roman or Saxon remains being present on site.
