Abstract/Summary

University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) carried out an archaeological evaluation by trial trenching on land to the south of Kingfisher Way, Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire (SP 8904 7456). The work was undertaken as part of an archaeological impact assessment in advance of a proposed residential development. The evaluation revealed archaeological finds and deposits consisting of ditches and pits of prehistoric date in the north-east corner of the development site, the remaining trenches being devoid of archaeological evidence. Based on the results of the evaluation, the evidence may indicate a prehistoric settlement, or else field systems close to a settlement.
