Abstract/Summary

This report describes archaeological mitigation works undertaken during the construction phase of the M1 Wind Farm. The site lies to the east of Roade. Mitigation works comprised an archaeological watching brief on groundworks associated with turbines T2, T3 and T4. One cut archaeological feature of modern origin was observed. The feature contained a large ceramic pipe/ land drain and is interpreted as a main drainage outfall pipe. The watching brief was successful in identifying that no significant archaeological remains were present within previously unevaluated areas of impact from the M1 Roade wind farm. No further archaeological works are recommended in relation to the project.
